Yaa Yaa and Okyeame Kwame performing Faithful

Although Rap Dacta, Okyeame Kwame was not able to raise the US$ 40,000.00 he needed to support the Ghana Paralympics Team, the warm reception he received last Friday at the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill was enough for him.

Okyeame Kwame who was able to raise $7,500 at the show told Showbiz he is very optimistic the rest of the money will be raised by the end of May. Okyeame who turned 40 on April 17 decided to raise funds to support the paralympic team to mark his birthday celebration.

“With shows like this, I know people do not carry large sums of money on them but with $7,500 pledges, I believe my team can raise rest money through the benevolence of the corporate world by the end of May.

“ So far, we have received pledges from kind people such as Lawyer Odeneho(GH¢10.000), Midland Savings and Loans($3,000), Obour, MUSIGA President( $1,000) and Evangelist Nana Yaa Owusu($ 1,000).

“ Also, I am making a plea to other members of  the public who want to support the Ghana Paralympics Team travel to USA to participate in this year’s Paralympics in Rio  to send their donations via mobile money to this number 0240341678”, he added.

Expressing his appreciation to everyone who showed up at the event, he said “  None of the 12 artistes who supported me on the night took money from me. It was amazing how they easily accepted to come and support me without even asking for transportation. 

“To everyone who graced the show especially  my fans who made it possible, I say God richly bless you for the love showed me last Friday” he added.

Ranging from music, comedy, poem and magic, the show dubbed “Music and Wheels” started at 9: 30 pm with Okyeame Kwame performing his Mr Versatile song. He went on to feed patrons with songs such as Sika, Anaa, Woso, Mesan Aba among others as the show rolled.

Songstress Nana Yaa proved she could deliver at any time and she did just that when M.C KKD put her on the spot. Performing Bob Marley’s Waiting In Vain, Nana Yaa had most of the audience singing along with her.

It was a delight to watch MUSIGA President, Obour, perform Killing The Game with Okyeame Kwame. 

Wiyaala proved why she is called the Lioness of Africa. She left almost everyone screaming for more after performing songs like Rock Ma Body, Tinambaynyi. Her energy on stage was something else.

In what could be described as an emotional reunion, Okyeame Kwame joined his brothers, Flow King Stone and Kunta Kinte who make up the group Bradez to entertain the crowd.

Kwabena Kwabena is always good and he did  just that when he thrilled the crowd with his stagecraft. 

There were also performances from DKB, Yaa Yaa, Rhyme Sonny and Tijaani.
