Miss Golden Stool unveils 16 contestants
16 contestants have been unveiled for the fifth edition of Miss Golden Stool aimed at showcasing the rich culture and traditions of Akans.

The unveiling ceremony which took place at the Silicon Event Centre, Tesano, last Saturday saw the ladies promoting themselves and presenting their ambitions for the pageant.
Miss Golden Stool Finalists
The finalists are Abraba, Ababio, Frimpomaa, Osaah, Oseikrom, Agyakowaa, Osika, Darkowaa, Akua and Animounyam.
The rest are Antwiwaa, Awura, Nana, Amoakoaa, Oseikrom and Appiawaa.
There will be weekly evictions until six finalists are selected to compete for the crown at the grand finale on Sunday, December 17.
The venue is yet to be communicated by the organisers.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Akua Amoakowaa, CEO of Miss Golden Stool, said the pageant has cultural significance and intends to use the platform to promote the rich Akan culture and traditions.
“Miss Golden Stool is a culturally inclined beauty pageant that seeks to nurture and groom a bevy of young ladies who will use their physical beauty, intellect and extensive knowledge of their culture to impact lives positively, with an emphasis on culturally promoting the development of the Akan regions in areas of sanitation, tourism, health and other social and economic issues.
“Last year, we had performances from Kwaisey Pee, Obaapa Christy and Jayana and this year we have another set of prominent musicians to thrill patrons for the grand finale," she said.
Miss Golden Stool is organised by Jay N Jay Company Limited. Sponsors for the Miss Golden Stool are Darling lemon alcoholic beverage, Life maté furniture, Latex foam and Pomo tomatoe paste. Abrewanana won last year's edition.
