Miss Ghana picks the best from the West

Exclusive Events Limited, organisers of the Miss Ghana pageant last weekend held what can be described as a “beautiful but tight” audition session in the Western regional capital, Takoradi, to select four beauties to represent the middle belt of the country at this year’s finals.

The ladies came, facially polished and looking good, but the various tasks, which included marketing sponsors’ products and services and facing the panel of judges, finally separated the potential queens from the wannabes.

After a grueling three-day audition session, Charlotte Derban, 21-year old student, actress and musician got the nod. She stands at 5ft, 7” tall with black hair and beautiful white eyes.

Charlotte says she has the ‘Can Do’ spirit and never gives up. She has a good sense of humour and loves dancing, playing table tennis and volley ball.

Ekua Asankomah Daniels, 20-year old student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) was also picked from the lot. Ekua says her mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive and do so with passion, compassion, humour and style. She is also 5ft 7” tall.

Dental Surgery Assistant at the College of Health at Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region, Rebecca Asamoah also made the cut. For Rebecca, she says participating in the pageant would give her the springboard to run her own dental clinic in future and also educate people on oral hygiene. She is 5ft, 8” tall and loves acting, dancing and swimming.
