MASA Festival calls for applications

The African Market for the Performing Arts Festival (MASA), scheduled to be held in Abidjan and other cities in Cote d’Ivoire from  March 1 to March 8, 2014, has called for applications from artistic groups.

Artistic creations  not more than three years old in music, theatre, contemporary dance and story-telling, may be entered for consideration and possible selection.

All applications and relevant documents, pictures and videos must be sent to [email protected] by Sunday, December 15. Further information on the festival and rules governing the selection process can be found at www.masa.ci.

MASA 2014 is dubbed, “The Performing Arts Face & Digital Age Challenges.” It is a  performing arts festival for the general public and also a commercial market place that brings  together performers and agents from several continents.

Additions to the  2014 festival include  story- telling and stand-up comedy.          

Performances  will be held at the Palace of Culture in Abidjan and other venues in that city. Other major cities such as Bouake and Grand Bassam will also host performances.

MASA’s main objectives are to support creativity and good quality productions, facilitate the movement of artists and their works within Africa and the world and train artists and key professionals in the production field.
