What would it feel like to relive those comedy memories from the early 1980s, when names such as KSM, Tommy Annan Forson and Fritz Baffour were among the voices making Ghanaians laugh?
For comedy lovers who grew up with those memories, the chance to see some of the pioneers back on stage promises to be a special one.
Two-time Ghana Comedian of the Year, Lekzy Decomic, is bringing some of the country’s comedy pioneers together with the current generation for Lekzy Unleashed – The Godfathers Edition, on Friday, November 7, 2026, at UPSA Auditorium in Accra.
Apart from the three comedy legends — KSM, Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan Forson — there will be performances by contemporary comedians such as Clemento Suarez, DKB, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Kwaku Manu, Khemikal, Mr Beautiful, David Oscar, Parrot Mouth, Percy Obrempong, James Brown and Jeffery Nortey.
South African comedian Chris Mapane will also join the line-up, while rapper Okyeame Kwame is expected to add a musical touch to the evening.
Lekzy said the appearance of KSM, Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan Forson would be one of the major highlights of the show, taking audiences back to an era when comedy was gradually establishing itself in Ghana’s mainstream entertainment.
Fritz Baffour and Tommy Annan -Forson began their stand-up comedy journey in 1987, at a time when the idea of making a living from making people laugh was still unfamiliar to many.
KSM, on the other hand, helped demonstrate the commercial potential of comedy, with his stage productions drawing huge audiences, including 13 sold-out shows at the National Theatre.
“Lekzy Unleashed is also an opportunity for me to acknowledge the pioneers whose work helped create the platform on which young comedians like myself perform today,” Lekzy said.
Lekzy Unleashed comes after other comedy specials by the comedian, including CanPAIN MESSage, Too Cute to Be Mute, Too Cute to Be Mute Amplified and Funny Boy Innit.
