The young artiste who takes inspiration from the successful stories of contemporary gospel artistes such as Cwesi Oteng, Kingzkid, Joe Mettle among others, believes it is time for Ghanaians to pay attention to his style of music.

“When it comes to secular music, we have a variety to enjoy from -hiplife, highlife, reggae and dancehall but it seems the gospel sector is limited. It is either praises or worship but that trend has to change. We can still praise our Maker by being hip and that is what I hope to achieve with my style,” he said in an interview with Showbiz.

Salm who believes his style of music will soon catch on well with gospel music lovers  takes a leap of faith with his latest song, Wish I Could Sing, which was released recently.

Recorded by Mr. White at Mallam, Salm praises his Maker on the song and thanks God for giving him the talent to rap.

He may be new on the scene but Kobby Salm, real name, Samuel Kwabena Adjei, proved he has got what it takes to rub shoulders with the ‘big boys’ when it comes to rap. Although Wish I Could Sing has a fast tempo, Salm was audible and that is a plus for him.

Salm started doing music some  three years ago when he came out with True Love ft Kesse and Make Them Talk. The graduate of the African University College of Communication had a stint with the secular world before switching to gospel music.

“Secular music wasn’t for me so I had to ditch it. I had a calling from God two years ago to switch to gospel and indeed my life has really improved ever since I made that decision,” he added.
