Applications are now open for the Accra edition of the Martell Swift Academy, the pan-African talent development platform created by Martell and curated by Africa House, with a mentor network bringing together experts from different parts of the music and creative industries.
At the heart of the Accra edition is a distinguished lineup of mentors who will offer emerging creatives and professionals guidance on building, navigating, and sustaining a career within Africa’s evolving music ecosystem. The mentors include British-Ghanaian DJ, producer and songwriter Juls; Ghanaian singer-songwriter Gyakie; award-winning rapper, songwriter and producer M.anifest; artist manager and music executive Therese Ohemaa Akua Jones; and music journalist, event curator, and founder of iMullar, Maxwell Adjavon.
Juls, recognised as an influential figure in the evolution of contemporary African music, has worked with artists including Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Lauryn Hill. Gyakie, known for her blend of Afrobeats, R&B and Ghanaian highlife, gained international recognition with her breakout single "Forever." M.anifest, celebrated for his sharp lyricism and fusion of hip hop with African sounds, has collaborated with global icons like Damon Albarn and Erykah Badu. Therese Ohemaa Akua Jones brings practical insight into artist management and brand building, particularly through her work with Ghanaian-American artist MOLIY. Maxwell Adjavon, through iMullar, champions emerging African artists and new sounds.
Beyond mentorship, selected participants will take part in practical learning, industry access, and collaboration, while gaining professional development support and a wider network of peers. The programme is designed to create opportunities for participants to apply what they have learned, develop their work, and build relationships that can support their continued growth beyond the Academy.
Applications for the Accra edition opened on October 27 and will close on November 6, 2026. Interested creatives can apply via the designated online portal.
