Impressive performances at VGMA21 as Kuami Eugene tops them all

Many people may be rueing the lack of audience at Day 2 of this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) on Saturday night as artistes put up amazing performances which deserved to be cheered.

Due to the coronavirus, Charterhouse, organisers of the VGMA, had to forego the huge audience that they were used to and instead settled for inviting just a handful of people to the Grand Arena of Accra International Conference Centre.

Live audience or not, performing artistes, most of who were nominees were ready to impress not only with their voices but their stagecraft.

The show opened with a great performance from rapper EL, who backed by his choristers performed his track Leaks and his energy level was on point.

Gospel artiste, Celestine Donkor and her little protege Nhyiraba Gideon also charged the auditorium with their spirit field single Agbebolo.

The energy man, Dancehall artiste Epixode did not disappoint with his performance. He also used the opportunity to pay tribute to Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman.

The energy, voice control and harmony with the live band exhibited by Lynx Entertainment signees, Kuami Eugene and KiDi during their individual performances were clear indications that a lot of work went into their craft.

With their amazing voices, Efya, King Promise and Adina gave classy performances, Medikal was good, Akwaboah also proved music really is in his blood and Kofi Kinaata was good on the night as well.

The 'oldies,' Amandzeba, Akosua Adjepong and Rex Omar took the audience back to the days of Nakorex and their performance was so great it got most of the guests on their feet.
