I’m still a gospel artiste —Nii Soul

GHANAIAN gospel singer Nii Soul has described news making the rounds that he has gone back to doing secular music as false because he is still in the business of winning souls for God through music.

Nii Soul who ditched secular music to go gospel some 10 years ago believes the rumours might have started just because he featured Prince Bright of BukBak fame on his latest single, Mata.

Throwing more light on it in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, he said “featuring a secular artiste on my song doesn’t mean I have gone back doing that kind of music. I am still a gospel artiste.

“When I have a song and I want to feature an artiste, I pray to God for direction and that is what I did with Mata. Prince Bright of Buk Bak was the person I was directed to work with when I prayed about my project so I featured him on the song.

“Nothing has changed about me. I am still Nii Soul who decided to follow God after tasting the world and I have no regrets. In fact, I still lead worship every Sunday at The Synagogue Church of All Nations in Lagos. Recently I performed Joe Mettle’s Kadosh and Bo Noo Ni  in church and it was awesome”, he added.

Talking about what he has been up to, Nii Soul said he was coming up with an album next month. “I have released two singles from my album—Wahala No Dey Finish and Mata which are doing well in some churches in Lagos where I currently reside.

“The album, titled Forecast Into The Past, is scheduled for release on December 12 and I know Ghanaians, Nigerians and the world will love it. It is made up of very beautiful songs” he told Graphic Showbiz.

Apart from working on the album, Nii Soul added he has been busy doing the work of God, and he is so happy about his new life.

After participating TV3’s Mentor and MTN Project Fame, Nii Soul released some songs, including Ba, Oshe Baba but much has not been heard from him since then.

He explains, “The reason you’ve not heard much of me is because there are three stages when doing the work of God. There’s the calling, the waiting and the sending. I’m in the waiting period at the moment.”
