Despite what she believes are her best efforts, men never seem to treat her the way she deserves to be treated in her romantic relationships thus making Chinese born Ghanaian based musician, Akua China to believe she is just not lucky with men.
Although she did not go into details about what really happened in her relationships, Akua China, real name, Apple Zhang who has been living in Ghana since 2008, told Showbiz last week that she has just been ‘unlucky in love’.
“I have dated quite few men in the past but I was treated badly so I had to end the relationships. When I fall in love, I give the relationship my all.
I am someone who loves with all my heart but it is unfortunate all my relationships did not end well. I go all out to make the man happy regardless of whether the man is rich or poor.
Some women will consider the wealth of a man before dating them but I do no such thing. I just love with my heart and I get nothing in return” Akua revealed.
According to the petite singer, although she attracts men anytime she steps out, she is very careful now due to her previous experiences.
However, she has not given up on real love. She strongly believes there is a good man out there for her.
“ I know there is a man out there waiting to make me the happiest woman on earth and I know I will find him one day,” she said.
Asked about her kind of ideal man, Akua said she prefers a man who will love her for who she is and who is caring, truthful and will make her happy all the time.
Away from her love-life, Akua who wants to take her music career to another level is currently working in different studios recording with several sound engineers.
Akua China, captured the hearts of many two years ago when she performed Kojo Antwi’s Tom and Jerry at the 2013 Legends and Legacy Ball.
“I want Ghanaians to see me as a serious musician and not just a Chinese woman who is trying to do Twi songs. I get calls to perform Twi songs at functions but that is not what I want. I want to do good music that will appeal to all,” she said.
Touching on her favourite artistes in Ghana, Akua chose Bisa Kdei and Becca “because they do really good music”.
