I’m fired up after Kenyan show —Kofi Owusu Peprah

IF there was one thing that spurs Gospel singer, Kofi Owusu Peprah on, it is that his works are making good impact outside the country.

Kofi joined other revered gospel artistes including Joe Mettle, Nigeria’s Victoria Orenze and Boaz Danken and Dr Ipyana from Tanzanaia to perform at the Grace Encounter show hosted at Grace Arena Ministries, Nairobi, Kenya.

The Matwen artiste updated his followers on social media with events leading to the concert and during the main show. And from the videos and pictures, there’s no doubt the artiste had a good time in Kenya.

In a post interview with Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, January 31, Kofi mentioned he has been encouraged to work harder this year following the huge welcome and approval from Kenyans.

“This show was quite an eye opener for me to know just how much of an impact my works were making outside Ghana. I was really stunned by the response.

“At a point in time in Kenya, I was confused about my location with all the positive vibes but the message I got in Kenya is how I’m blessing people and need not to be discouraged by any circumstances”, he said.

The artiste who used the occasion to tour some of the major cities of Kenya was also hosted on some major gospel music programmes such as Behind the Sound on the Gospel Sounds of Africa where he had the chance to interact with his fans.

“It was a humbling experience to get Kenyans call into the programme and share stories of how my songs are shaping their lives. With this knowledge, I pray that God will make 2023 a better year for me”, he said.

Back at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he had his university education, Kofi was a known bass guitarist. However, he realised that little value was placed on his skills and he didn’t have the chance to play much at school functions.

Determined to be useful in the scheme of affairs nonetheless, he opted to be a singer and that certainly was Kofi’s best decision and today, he is holding his own in the Gospel music industry with songs such as Amen, Big God and Nyame Te Ase.
