‘I found love in Ghana’ - Meek Mill says during performance at Afro Nation

Despite publicly announcing a frustration with a stolen mobile phone on social media prior to his performance as the headline artiste for day one of this year’s Afro Nation festival, which took place at the Marine Drive of the Independence Square Thursday night, December 29, award-winning US rapper Meek Mill has confessed his undying love for Ghana.

In the middle of his performance, he paused and said, “I found love in Ghana and I really appreciate all the love.”

Meek Mill is the first American artiste to feature on Afro Nation Ghana which is his first major appearance in Africa, following years of talk about visiting Ghana.

And truthfully, he lived up to all the hype around his brand as the headline artiste with performances of a slew of some of Hip-Hop’s biggest smash hits of his collections such as Rico, Freestyle, Eyes on You and Dreams and Nightmares among many others.

For over an hour and half, the visibly charged party audience patiently waited for Meek Mill after Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage had equally entertained.

With a rousing applause that showed just how much the crowd adored him, Meek Mill who spent just about 20 minutes perfectly worked on the moods of the charged audience who jumped, rapped and sang along.

The disappointed looks on the faces of fans when Meek Mill, who has teamed up with the biggest names in the game such as Drake, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Post Malone and previous partner Nicki Minaj bowed off the stage in about 20 minutes into his performance was quite clear.

Apart from Meek Mill, there were equally great music presentations from the likes of Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage, Cky, Oxlade, Ghana’s team of Kuami Eugene and Gyaki didn’t really. South Africa’s dancer, Kamo Mphela also gave some energetic acts on stage.

Trust Legendary P Square to be the life of every party and boy oh mine did the duo give a riveting experience to patrons. They really took patrons down memory lane with some of their chart topping tracks such as Chop My Money, Beautiful Onyinye, Bizzy Body, Personally and No One Like You.

Since its debut in 2019, Afro Nation Ghana continues to pride itself as the biggest platform for the celebration of Afrobeats music.

Thanks to the list of performers who have always served thousands of fun seekers who make their way to the event to enjoy music and artistic stagecraft from their favourite Afrobeats artistes from around the world.

The second day of the festival will feature galaxy of music stars such as Nigeria’s Asake, Rema and Dadaju.

And there’s Ghana’s representatives of Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Camidoh and KiDi to crown the two day festival.
