High School Praise ’26 set for October 31

High School Praise ’26 is set for Saturday, October 31, at Shield International School, Adenta, Accra, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event, organised by Nii Okai Ministries (NOM), was launched on Tuesday, October 6, at the AI Centre of IT Consortium in East Legon.

High School Praise forms part of Nii Okai Ministries’ High School Mission, which uses music, worship and mentorship to engage students while raising support for children with congenital heart conditions.

The initiative has been running for four years and has reached thousands of young people.

Through its High School Music Evangelism programme, the team visits schools and uses entertainment sessions to minister through music, with some schools having their own music teams.

Rev. Nii Okai said the long-term goal was to turn High School Praise into a bigger national festival involving schools from across the country.

“We are looking for a bigger platform where it can actually be a festival. You can have day one, day two, so that they have enough time to do that,” he said.

He called for support from the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education, particularly towards securing a stadium for the proposed expansion.

“If you have, like, GES on your side, or the Ministry of Education, they can handle the cost of the stadium, and then we can do other things,” he said.

Chief Technology Officer of IT Consortium, Franklin Eleblu, said supporting such projects was a meaningful use of the company’s resources.

“There couldn’t be a better responsibility, a better use of our funds, a better use of our empathy and compassion than projects like this,” he said.

The 2026 edition will bring together students from Shield International School, Tema International School, Akosombo International School, Life International College, Ghana Christian International High School and Vine Christian High School.

It will feature special ministrations by renowned gospel artiste Cofi Boham and host Rev. Nii Okai, alongside performances and activities involving students from the participating schools.

As part of the programme, the schools will compete in a fund-raising drive through the Chango platform. The competition will be based on the amount raised, with Sweet Muzic Pro Audio providing musical equipment as prizes.

Chief Executive Officer of Sweet Muzic Pro Audio, Pastor Abraham Asiedu, pledged the company’s continued commitment to the programme.

“I want to assure High School Praise and Nii Okai Ministries that in 2026 we are fully on board. In whichever capacity they want us to help, we are on board,” he said.

One of the initiative’s most touching outcomes has been the difference it has made in the lives of children needing urgent medical care.

Last year’s fund-raising helped finance the successful heart surgery of eight-year-old Husseina, giving her a new chance at life and hope for a healthier future.
