Grand launch of Ghana’s Most Beautiful

On entering the Bukom Boxing Arena on Sunday afternoon, one would not think this was the same venue that hosted a boxing bout the night before.

The colourful atmosphere was filled with merry-making as TV3 offically launched this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant.

The event also doubled as the unveiling of the final 10 contestants who will be representing the 10 regions of Ghana.

And the ladies who will be vying for bragging rights as Ghana’s Most Beautiful, 2017 are Tsekumah Christine Edem, 24, (Volta Region); Helena- Annabella Asare-Bediako, 25, (Ashanti Region); Shaguffa Pelpuo Adams, 26, (Upper West Region); Ivy Nhanna Serwaa Sefa- Boateng, 23, ( Eastern Region) and Juliet Mensah, 23, ( Brong Ahafo Region).

The rest are Helena Baaba Botchway, 26, (Central Region); Dorcas Asante Afful, 25, (Western Region); Henrietta Naa Ayeley Mensah, 23, (Greater Accra Region); Helen Talata Akongzirigo Azitariga Atinganma, 23, (Upper East Region) and Zeinab Abdul Mumin, 23, (Northern Region).

Past Queen Yaba who welcomed the 10 to what she described as a life changing experience asked the contestants to put their best foot out during the competition.

"Take this opportunity and make the most out of it. Your people are watching and you don't have to let them them. Build yourself up and be an agent of change," she said.

The grand launch brought together chiefs from the various regions who came to support their own. Music, drumming and dancing greeted patrons who have come to support their representatives.

The event emceed by Johnnie Hughes and Akosua Adeti opened with an energetic cultural display by the Noslen Images and Unique Afro Contemporary in collaboration with All Stars.
