Winners of the 2015 edition of the GN Bank Awards, last Friday received the original award trophies as part of the winning package.
New trophies had to be provided because the name of the awards scheme had to be changed from People‘s Choice Awards to GN Bank Awards. The brief ceremony, which brought a closure to the maiden edition of the awards and to make way for preparations for the 2016 edition, took place at the headquarters of GN Bank, Asylum Down, Accra.
The event was attended by many of the winners and their representatives, management of GN Bank, chairman of the 2015 GN Bank Awards Board, Mr Tommy Annan– Forson and executives of Spyder Lee Entertainment, organisers of the awards.
In a speech, Mr Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi, aka Bola Ray, who spoke on behalf of the winners, thanked GN Bank for contributing to the development of the Ghanaian arts and entertainment industry.
He also commended Spyder Lee Entertainment for putting together one of the best shows he has ever witnessed in Ghana.
For his part, Mr Patrick Anumel, CEO of GN Bank, thanked all the winners present for making time to attend the event and also for their patience as the organisers procured new trophies due to the change of name of the awards scheme.
He further stated that the subsequent editions of the awards will be bigger and better with several add-ons.
The GN Bank Award, an annual cross-discipline awards scheme, seeks to honour and celebrate organisations and individuals who contribute to the development of the arts and entertainment industry in diverse ways in Ghana.
