Fiifi Coleman premieres first virtual play, May ending

The COVID-19 pandemic has no doubt brought many changes in our way of lives and it is not surprising the entertainment industry is adopting new ways to meet the challenging times.

While the pandemic has led to the lockdown of some countries, Ghana has placed a ban on social gathering of more than 25 people to encourage people to stay home to prevent the spread of the virus that has presently infected over 5,000 people.

It is line with such commitment that actor and playwright, Fiifi Coleman is set to host his new play, You Play Me, I Play You, virtually on Saturday, May 30 at the National Theatre.

The 1:15-hour comedy drama features comedians, Clemento Suarez and General Ntim and it is meant to relief people from the stress in these times.

“Clemento Suarez and General Ntim are two great guys and not strangers to stage plays. Drama lovers have seen them in a number of productions and I can assure everyone that they are going to deliver again,” Coleman said.

Fiifi Coleman, who is also the CEO of Fiifi Coleman Productions, mentioned that even though these virtual events may not be profitable financially, that has been the only way for entertainers to reach out to their audience.

“That’s the way we are going now and we hope it will be as successful as it would have with been with an audience presence. I want to use the opportunity to call on Ghanaians to adhere strictly to all the COVID-19 protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service and the World Health Organisation.

Fiifi Coleman has featured in a number of Ghanaian and Nigerian movies such as Piece of Me, The Most Beautiful Hour and 95.
