'Fair Yesta22-Black Vibe' lived up to expectation

IT was lit. The maiden edition of Fair Yesta22-Black Vibe, a festival aimed at exploring African culture with emphasis on our food, clothes and music made a mark  on Saturday, August 7 when it came off at Untamed Empire located on the Spintex Road.

Fair Yesta22-Black Vibe organised by Twitchouse started at 10 am in the morning with activities like paintings by professional, display of different African prints and wear, sale of local foods, drinks among other activities.

In the afternoon the Military Band took over the action playing songs from musicians such as Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale,Kofi Kinaata and KiDi.

But the excitement at the festival reached its peak when the main concert started  in the night. Underground artistes including Kofi Pages raised the curtain for the music show. They set the tone just right for the main acts.

Of course Mr Drew never disappoints and he distributed thrill with his dance moves while dishing out songs from his repertoire such as This Year, Mood, Dayana, Seke, Later and Let Me Know.

At a point during his performance, Mr Drew came down from the stage to join the audience and it was just crazy and some patrons seized the opportunity to take pictures with him.

And when it was the turn of Wendy Shay, she was also on point. She fed the audience some of her popular songs and she was well received. Lasmid also gave a good account of himself.

King Promise was just great on the night. He sang almost all his popular songs and he sometimes just stopped for the audience to do the singing. He surely added pizzazz to Fair Yesta22-Black Vibe.

His energy on stage together with his dance move and his interactions with the audience made his performance exciting to watch.

Nigerian musician Mayorkun also did his best to entertain patrons and so did DJ Aroma from Kumasi who treated them to an hour of good music.

R2bees who were publised to be part of Fair Yesta22-Black Vibe were however a no show.
