Emelia Brobbey denies London shoplifting reports
Actress Emelia Brobbey has denied reports of her involvement in shoplifting incident that occurred while she was in the UK.

According to her, the unfortunate incident has been misreported by the media, adding that her family and colleagues could testify to the fact that she has never been involved in any such act.
Accra based radio station, Adom FM, reported that Emelia had been arrested in the UK for shoplifting a bracelet at Piercings while on vacation.
However, upon her return to Ghana on Thursday evening, Emelia, in a press briefing told the media that the bracelet, worth £10 accidentally fell in the pram which carried her baby when she was shopping.
She said her attention was drawn to the item by the shop’s security when she was leaving the shop after she had paid for the items she went to buy.
“After I finished buying my items and was leaving, there was a beep and the security drew my attention that I had an unpaid item in the pram. I showed him my receipt and the items I had bought and he asked me to go. When I was leaving, the beep sounded again and we searched but couldn’t find the item,” she explained to the press in Twi.
Emelia further explained that another security person intervened and found that the bracelet had fallen into another section of the pram.
She added that she paid for the item and it was then that the security man asked for her address.
She added that a couple of days later the police came to her house because it was purported that she was in the country illegally.
“He asked for my passport and I showed it to him and he called to confirm that I had a two-year visa,” she added.
Emelia further expressed surprise about reports that she had been arrested by the police for shoplifting and alleged that some persons had set out to tarnish her image.
