Ekow Blankson to be buried on December 16

THE final funeral rites of actor Ekow Blankson will be held from Friday, December 16-17 at the Tema Community 11 Presec School.

This was announced by the family at the deceased one week observation on Saturday, October 15 held at the Tema Community 11 Presec School.

According to a family member of the actor, the funeral will begin at the Tema Community 11 Presec School Park and will be followed by interment at the Tema Community 9 cemetery.

Members of the Actors Guild, led by President Bill Asamoah and colleagues from the Creative Arts Industry were present.

Ekow Blankson’s One-Week on October 15

Among those in attendance were Kalybos, Fiifi Coleman, Fred Amugi, Michael Afranie, Prince David Osei, Anthony Wood, and Beverly Afaglo.

The seasoned actor died on Monday, October 3 at the age of 50.

Reports had it that Ekow Blankson was taken to the hospital after a short illness on Sunday, October 2 and passed on the following Monday morning.

Circumstances surrounding his passing were not very clear but colleagues such as veteran Highlife artiste Rex Omar and stakeholders in the creative industry paid glowing tributes to him.

Ekow Blankson was born on March 16, 1972 and won admiration for his roles in a number of movies such as Borga, Frozen Emotion, Savannah, In April, Checkmate, Illusions, A Woman Scorned, Pool Party and Famous.

In addition to acting, Mr Ekow Blankson was the Commercial Manager of Ghanaweb.

He worked with Multimedia Broadcasting Company and held positions such as Director of Brands, Corporate Communications and General Manager of Luv FM and Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Ekow Blankson also worked with many other media firms including TV Africa and Media General Ghana Limited
