DKB, others for comedy encore
After a highly successful maiden edition of the Pure Comedy show in Kumasi earlier this year, Switchline Entertainment, organisers of the event, are set to stage an encore tomorrow, December 4, at the Miklin Hotel in Kumasi with two shows at 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm respectively.

Tomorrow’s show has an even bigger collection of comedians with the number increasing to eight from the previous number of four at the maiden edition.
Comedians expected to feature at the show are some established and up and coming comedians in the country including DKB, Jacinta, Sarkodie Auntie Mary, QB, David Aglah, Khemikal and Foster Romanus.
In an interview with Showbiz, David Aglah, CEO of Switchline Entertainment, said the decision to stage the second edition of the show was because of the overwhelming reception they received at the first show.
“People enjoyed the event so much that even after all the acts had performed, the audience were still in their seats hoping there were more comedians backstage.
“ The complaints we received were that the duration was too short and so we have decided to give patrons exactly what they want with two shows on Friday,” he said.
David said Friday’s show is in collaboration with Kumasi based media house, Luv FM.
“We are expecting large numbers on tomorrow and in anticipation of this, we have booked an even bigger venue capable of seating even more people.

Looking at the lineup of seasoned comedians who will be performing, I can personally guarantee that patrons will experience some of the most memorable and funniest comedy moments,” he said.
He told Showbiz that after the launch of Pure Comedy in the Ashanti Region, his team would replicate the project in the other regions of the country.
“We would definitely be opening similar clubs across the country but for the moment, the concentration is on the Ashanti Region. We want to see how it takes root in Kumasi before we shift our focus to other parts of the country.”
