Bruno Iwuoha, veteran Nollywood actor dies

Veteran Nollywood actor Bruno Iwuoha has been reported dead.

The affable movie star reportedly died early Saturday at the National Hospital in Abuja after a prolonged battle with diabetes.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria has confirmed Bruno Iwuoha’s death in a statement widely quoted by Nigerian media outlets.

He was 68 and survived by his wife and six children.

The venerable actor played varying roles as a wise king, a man of great wisdom and wits, a bastion of hope, a peacemaker or the conscience of society, wining in 2007, the Best Supporting Actor award at the 3rd Africa Movie Academy Awards for his role in Sins of the Flesh. He also cast in Fire on the Mountain (2002) and No Nonsense (2003) among others.
