Blanche to jolt GH film industry with Trophy
Actress Baby Blanche is set to premiere her first self-produced movie titled Trophy on October 14 at the Silverbird Cinema, Accra Mall.

The movie which she hopes will jolt the sleeping Ghanaian film industry deals with the themes of life on campus, politics, love, relationships among others.
Alongside Baby Blanche, the movie features a number of seasoned actors and actress in the Ghanaian movie scene such as Samuel Ofori, Bill Asamoah, Bishop Benard Nyarko, Jessica Williams, and Sandra Ababio among others, who bring their considerable acting prowess to bear on the film.
Baby Blanche told Showbiz that her decision to self-produce Trophy is borne out of her passion to see a resurgence in the Ghanaian movie industry, which has been experiencing a downturn for some time now.
“I went off the movie scene for a while due to a number of reasons but while away, I realised that I still have a lot to offer the movie industry.
“There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed and this is my comeback. I intend to come out with clean and professional productions as often as possible. The movie, Trophy is one of a kind, and is very educative, informative and thought provoking,” she said.
“One thing I can promise Ghanaians is that, it is a movie that was well chosen, one that went through a lot of scrutiny. My team and I had to sit down on several occasions to make sure the script we had was spot on.”
In a response to why she chose to use actors who are known for their Kumawood movies, she said, “There is no particular reason but following their works, they fall into the roles that I wanted them to play.”
She added the language used in the movie is a fusion of English and Twi and as such everyone would be able to watch and understand it.
