This is because the Foundation has put certain things in place to ensure that this year’s PANAFEST becomes a success story.
In an interview with Showbiz last Tuesday, Mr Kohain said “this year, we brought Media Majique on board as partners and they have helped to raise funds so I believe this year’s is going to be better than most years.”
Reacting to the low publicity for the festival, Mr Kohain was optimistic that they were on course and that there is no course for alarm, “ we are getting ready to step up the publicity, some billboards have gone up already but we will put up more this week.
“There are banners all over Cape Coast the host city and in Elmina as well but we will put up more billboards in Accra this week to raise awareness,” he said.
Based on these, Rabbi believes they will pull this year’s PANAFEST off successfully, “I see no reason why we shouldn’t pull it off successfully because everything has been put in place and we are set for the big event,” he confidently said.
He used the opportunity to name some highlights of this year’s festival which kicks off on Tuesday, July 25 with a Wreath Laying Ceremony and Tribute to Pan African Pioneers at the W.E.B.Dubois Centre and the Nkrumah Mausoleum.
The Akwaaba Ceremony comes off at the Elmina Castle Forecourt on July 26. There will be International Variety Performances at the Cape Coast Centre for National Culture in the evening.
On Thursday, July 27 will be the Colloquium Opening Ceremony at the University of Cape Coast and film premieres in the evening at the Cape Coast Stadium. A PANAFEST@ 25 Grand Durbar to be hosted by the Oguaa Traditional Council and attended by chiefs from all 10 regions comes off at the Victoria Park, Cape Coast on Saturday, July 29.
Emancipation Day is at Assin Manso on August 1 to be followed by an Awards Ceremony and Cocktail at the African Regent Hotel, Accra on August 2.
Rabbi urged everyone to be part of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of PANAFEST as it will be historic.
