Soon after the release of her second compilation of songs titled Time 4 Me, Afro-Pop star Becca has landed a gig for late July in Japan with Sean Kingston. Japanese concert promoters saw Becca perform at the 2013 Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) African Fair in Yokohama earlier this month.
They were impressed with her act and asked her to come back next month to open for the Jamaican American rapper, singer and songwriter at a concert scheduled for Tokyo.
“Becca’s show in Yokohama was attended mostly by people from the Japanese business community. She won them over with the one hour show she offered and we are not surprised the Japanese want to see her again,” says Becca’s manager, Kiki Banson who was with her in Yokohama.
The JETRO African Fair is the largest African business- related event every year in Japan. JETRO’s responsibilities include providing information and support to foreign companies looking for successful entry and expansion in Japanese markets.
Ghana was one of the 54 African countries in attendance at the fair this year. Becca and her entourage as well as some fashion designers and other creative elements, were invited along by the Ministry of Trade as part of the Ghana delegation.
Becca took advantage of the Japan trip to shoot a video in Yokohama and Tokyo for her Time 4 Me song. She worked with a Ghanaian and Japanese crew on the video which her management says would be out early next month.
