Banga from the underground

Up and coming Afro pop artiste, Philip Haruna, known in the underground circles as Blaq Diamond is out with his first single Banga.

The Accra-based Nigerian singer, who in his early days learnt to play the piano and drums in church, is not only a singer but currently a producer at Boom Entertainment. 

The song, Banga, is a danceable tune sang in both English and Hausa and is about calling people to the dance floor to have a good time. 

A potential club banger, Blaq Diamond said the song was inspired by the culture in his hometown in Kaduna State and also by musicians he looks up to such as Davido, Patoranking, Sarkodie and Jesse Jagz.

“I am an artiste, not just a singer. I write my own music, play instruments and produce my own songs. I am determined to make it in this industry and hope to take my career to the next level with this single. 

“ I hope to win the hearts of many because this is a song everybody will love and dance to” he said.
