Aweele debuts on James Town Fisherman

After working behind the scenes as a writer and director of the hilarious TV comedy series, James Town Fisherman, Herbert Attukwei Korley, popularly known as Aweele, is set to make his first appearance on the show tomorrow.

Aweele, who plays the role of Apoolopo, an illiterate fisherman, is expected to play a character different from what his fans have known him for on Chorkor Trotro.
In a chat with the Daily Graphic yesterday, Aweele said his role would define his versatility as an actor. “I didn’t want to appear on the show but work behind the scenes to make it successful. That has been achieved and now my fans can enjoy me as I take up my new role in James Town Fisherman,” he stated.


Produced by Philmtools Media Limited, James Town Fisherman which shows on Viasat 1 on Sundays at 5:30 pm, is a story about the daily life of Nii Lampado, a popular fisherman in James Town, and his family.


Nii Lampado’s aim is to get his two children, Sebe and Akweley, good education to become important citizens of their community.


However, his high hopes for the children would be dashed when his son, Sebe, drops out of school to pursue his personal interests much to the dislike of his father.
His woes would be deepened when Sebe gets the support of his mother, Maa Fante, played by Beatrice Chinery, popularly known as Miliki Micool of Kejetia fame.
But Nii Lampado’s daughter would give him hope of having an educated child when Akweley gains admission to a tertiary institution to further her education.


The series features stars such as Psalm Adjetefio (Nii Lampado), Beatrice Chinery aka Miliki Micool (Maa Fante), Bismark Odoi as Sebe, Fatima Bintu Ali as Asibi, De-Souza as Togbe Kuntu, Samantha Zibo as Akweley, Kofi Laing, among others.
The series is repeated on Tuesdays at 2:00 pm.
