August Worship returns on August 30

Gospel singer Eric Jeshrun is bringing back his annual worship gathering, August Worship, after a four-year break, from Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Cedar Mountain Chapel, Assemblies of God, Accra.

The weeklong comeback edition will be held under the theme, “Focus on Jesus” and forms part of a week-long programme running from August 23 to 30.

The programme will feature morning and evening sessions during the week, culminating in the main August Worship service on August 30 at 4 p.m.

Speaking at a press launch at Faith Gatherings, Achimota, on August 7, 2026, Jeshrun said August Worship was birthed from his “Take to Christ” campaign, which he started in 2009 to support secondary school students battling drug abuse and other challenges.

According to him, more than 200 young people have since been reached through the ministry.

However, the programme was not held from 2022 to 2025 as Jeshrun focused on ministry and family commitments, including establishing Faith Gatherings Worldwide, which now has branches in Accra, London and Canada.

This year’s gathering will place a strong emphasis on prayer for Ghana.

“This year, there's going to be a lot more worship and warfare over our nation. We are believing in God that we'll find a permanent solution to the issue of galamsey,” he said.

Artistes billed on the programme include Eric Jeshrun, Isiah Fosu Kwakye, Petra Odubayo, Minister Noble G and Team Eternity, alongside ministries from men of God including Dolapo Lawal, Michael Oldfield, Stephen Obeng Amoako and Godswill Oyarifa.
