Amakye Dede out of danger

Ghanaian high life legend Amakye Dede who survived a gory accident at Nsutam, Anyinam- Bonsu  on the Accra- Kumasi Highway has been transferred to the Cardithoracic Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The Medical Superintendent at the Osiem Hawa Memorial Hospital, Dr Daniel Kofi Yeboah said the 'iron boy' sensation was recovering, and currently out of danger.

"Amakye Dede is OK. He walked to the ambulance that transferred him to Korle-Bu after taking his breakfast", he stated.

“We only transferred him because a senior colleague requested to see him", he added.

Amakye Dede suffered severe injuries including facial lacerations.

However, Amakye Dede's manager, Isaac Yeboah, who was also the driver of his Toyota Corolla died on the spot after a Sprinter bus rammed into their stationed Corolla.

The accident occurred on New Year's day at a time when Amakye Dede was reportedly changing in his stationed car for a show at the Paradise Spot near the Linda Dor Restaurant at Bonsu Junction.

Amakye Dede's body guard, Mr Prince Mensah, 43, is currently receiving further treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.

Eye witness reports blamed the fatal accident on a taxi driver who allegedly crossed the Sprinter bus while moving from the Paradise filling station.
