A new song, Peacemaker from the Peacemaker movement made up of  Omanba Kakraba Wullipan and Wan Bu (PUA)  has been released on the various digital platforms with the aim of spreading the “good news of peace” to the youth.

Recorded by MST Records, Peacemaker is a call on politicians to appreciate the essence of peace and to lead the campaign to achieve it.

Omanba Kakraba who spoke on the group’s behalf described Peacemaker as a conscious song. He said politicians play the “enemy card” to deceive their followers but behind the scenes, they strike the best of friendships with their ‘opponents’ in the other political parties.

“Our politicians don’t want the good of Ghana because of their selfish interests. When we want peace for Ghana, they want a piece of Ghana and that is quite dangerous.

“ As a people, we must not allow ourselves to be used by politicians and sacrifice the precious peace we are enjoying,” he stated.

A reggae song, Peacemaker which was officially released on June 4 preaches the strength of unity and calls on journalists to discharge their duties without taking sides to avoid plunging the country into chaos.

‘Be your brother’s keeper and a peace maker. Home sweet home... goes the chorus of song.

“An eye for an eye ends up making the world blind and that is what we must avoid in these politically tensed moments.

We must educate the youth who are mostly used as weapons of destruction that the thumb not the fists is used to vote,” Omanba Kakraba said.

The duo also expressed their appreciation to Obaatanpa Emelia de-Heer Foundation, Coronation Crown Colony and members of the Peace Maker movement for their support for the peace campaign.
