Kweysi Swat is in love
After over 10 years of struggle to hit the limelight with Wonni Nyame A Due in April, young Highlife artiste, Kweysi Swat says he is ready for serious music business with the release of his latest song, I’m In Love.

Although he came out with Wonni Nyame A Due in April this year, he believes his latest song is what will take him where he has always dreamt to be in the music industry.
Kweysi Swat, a graduate of the Koforidua Polytechnic told Showbiz in a chat on Monday that though it has been a long road for him, he’s happy to finally chase his dreams.
“I was inspired to release I’m In Love after I got the recognition from releasing Wonni Nyame A Due. I know I have to prove my worth as an artiste and my new song will certainly set the mark,” he said.
A highlife tune recorded by Willis beatz, I’m In Love chronicles the story of how a young man starts behaving “strangely” when he falls in love.
In the song, Kweysi Swat brags about a pretty lady he loves so much and would do everything in his power to keep her and how true love can bring an “evolution in destiny”.
He employs the use of proverbs and popular adages to narrate his story. This, he attributes to his rich knowledge of the Fante language.
He may not be popular on the Highlife scene now but Kweysi Swat, real name, Francis Obeng is no “stranger” to the Ghanaian music circles.
His debut song, W’dom No released a decade ago did not fly due to poor management skills back then.
Just like Castro who Kweysi Swat has been accused of imitating because of the similarities in their voice, he grew up in Takoradi and attended St. John’s School in Sekondi where he discovered his talent.
He told Showbiz he has been inspired by the likes of Obrafour, Nana Ampadu and Castro for his choice of lyrics and singing style.
Other songs he has to his credit are Kote Kakyer3 and D33d3w. He is currently promoting Wonni Nyame A Due.
