I’m making money writing songs for other artistes—Apaatse

THE last time Hiplife musician Enoch Allotey showbiz name Apaatse released a song was about four years ago and while one may think he is struggling financially, the opposite is the case.

According to him, he is cool with his career not growing because he is making quite a lot of money writing songs for other musicians.

My Name was the last song I wrote but I have written songs for a lot of musicians in Ghana and it pays a lot. I have written songs for Knii Lantey, Nana Yaa, Mimi and a lot of musicians who wouldn’t want their names to be mentioned,” he told Graphic Showbiz.

According to Apaatse, he has been in the music business for 10 years but has spent most of it writing for other musicians and making some cool money.

He explained that he either contacts the musicians or they get in touch with him. “It does not take me a long time to put together a beautiful song and I can proudly say I have written a lot of songs some of which are yet to be released. In a week, I can put together about five songs and that is a gift God has given me,” he said.

Asked his take on whether musicians should have side jobs, Apaatse said he agrees that a musician should not focus only on music.

“You cannot stay on top forever as a musician so having a side job is the best. I have a restaurant called Food Office as my side job and I’m planning to open other businesses so that I am always comfortable. If that happens you will never be broke as a musician,” he said

Some of Apaatse’s own compositions are Wedding Day, K3ba, Tomorrow, See Nobody, Hard work, Blessed One and My Turn.
