Hanks switches to music

Nigerian actor, Hanks Anuku, who is widely known in Nigeria, Ghana and other parts of the continent due to his dexterity in acting has joined the Ghanaian music industry after many years of contributing immeasurably to the movie industry in Nigeria and concluding it here in Ghana.

“Music has been in me for a very long time and I feel it’s time to show the world the other side of me which is rapping” he told Showbiz in an interview last Friday.

According to the actor who has been in Ghana for some years now, his decision to go into music is due to backbiting, favouritism in the movie industry which is not making the movie industry a better place to belong.

“I love Ghanaians and their style of music and I am ready to join the many musicians in Ghana although I know it is not going to be easy. I am almost done with my first single which will be released in Ghana next month,” he said.

Hanks explained that he is in talks with some of the A-List musicians in Ghana to feature on his next project which is going to take place in a couple of months.

Hanks Anuku is signed onto Afro Fusion music owned by Nigerian star, Jonathan Nwadinobi popularly known as Eze

Asked whether he is likely to go back into the movie industry, Hanks said he cannot tell now but all he wants at the moment is to focus on his music career which he has been working on for many years now.

Eze who signed Hanks on believes he will go far due to his ability to rap. “I signed him because he has the talent and matured composition skills. It was music that brought him to me but I didn’t pay attention to that area until after two years.  Truly he surprised everyone in the studio”, he said.
