Hiphop artiste, D Black is really ready for Christmas and it will be a good one for him as his latest single, Julie which features highlife artiste, Bisa Kdei is set to be a staple for the festivities.

Julie, released three weeks ago, is a single off his untitled fourth album which is yet to be released and has been hyped as the official Christmas anthem.

The song is gaining momentum on the airwaves and this has been boosted by the hilarious video accompanying it.

Julie talks about two young men who fall in love with the same girl who apparently is with multiple men. She schemes and drains the men of their money and leaves when she is through with them. When they find out, they try all they can to convince her to come back to them.

D-Black tells Showbiz, he knew what to do to make the song a hit. “I have been in this game for a while and I know what makes a hot song.

“Julie is simple, the chorus is not hard to grasp and it is danceable too. Those are the magic ingredients I needed to sell it faster to the audience,” he said.

The video for Julie, which is currently 23 on Youtube Ghana’s trending videos, was directed by Jeneral Jay and features Fella Makafui of YOLO fame, Kumawood star, Kwaku Manu, Papa Nii Oesophagus and Kofi Adjorlolo.

It has a court setting with D-Black and Bisa Kdei seeking redress in court after Julie’s deceit. Kofi Adjorlolo is the judge, Kwaku Manu and Papa Nii are lawyers on opposing sides.

The Black Avenue Muzik boss said the simple concept the team adopted has worked.

“We just wanted something different from the usual clubbing, drinking, sexy women and the beach scenes. I wanted it to be fun and hilarious and so my team approved the court story and it worked well.

“The discussions the video is generating indicate that we did something right and I’m happy about the outcome,” he said.

D-Black is set to drop a new mixtape and his fourth album in December.
