Choirmaster, Blakk Rasta collaborate on Last Born

Since the split of the Praye group early this year, Choirmaster has found ways to keep himself relevant on the music scene.

A few months after the release of his first solo album, Revelation, the Saved By Grace singer is out with a new song, Last Born.

The song, which features reggae artiste, Blakk Rasta, was released last week Wednesday.

Known mostly for highlife and hiplife tunes, Choirmaster takes the reggae path with Last Born which was produced by Hydraulix Music GH.

In the song, he talks about how he wants to be treated special by his wife-to-be when they get married because he is his father’s “last born”.

He sings about how he has enjoyed many “goodies” in his home and would not settle for less thus advises his would be wife to treat him right.

Artistes have ways of drawing the strength of each other and the reggae vibes and terms Blakk Rasta uses are quite interesting. In parables, he talks about how his partner, Akosua Mansah, has found ways to “hook” him forever. He advises her to be patient since in love, “the best lies in the last”.

But for the few Patois jargons he uses which may not be easily understood, Blakk Rasta made a significant contribution on Last Born.

“It is not an easy task to make good music. A lot of hard work goes into a good product and I’m confident that Last Born will get good reviews.

“ It is not for any reason that I featured Blakk Rasta. He is a ‘Don’ in the reggae fraternity and he did a good job on the song”, he told Showbiz on Monday.

Choirmaster, who lost out on the Best Male Video Award to Fuse ODG at the 4Syte Music Video Awards held last Saturday, said he was ready to make a name for himself as a solo artiste.

“I was written off when I started but halfway into the game, people have realised that I didn’t come to add up to the numbers. This is what I’ve been working at”, he stated.
