Big push for dancehall artistes

There are many young Ghanaian arrtistes who have decided to express their creativity by way of the dancehall musical genre and 30 of them recently featured on three compilation albums produced by Irie Ites, Studios in Nima, Accra.

Mr Alekz Adamz, CEO of Irie Ites, said the idea behind the project was to afford dancehall acts who don’t have the means now to bring out their own material, to be heard by the public.

The three compilation albums are ‘Nima Clock Riddim’, ‘Irie Bus Riddim’ and ‘Pretty Nadia Riddim.’

Featured on ‘Nima Clock Riddim’ are Addi Self, Adikora, Blak Mexxiah, Enamily, X- Blankson, Trigazy, Renner, Rashid Metal, Lingua Kat and King Vuvu.

Appearing on ‘Irie Bus Riddim’ are Scata Bada, Ras Kuuku, Iwan, Bongo, Osagyefo, Owurasax, Eye Judah, Fii Selah, Kwame Partan, Da Governor and Konkarah.

‘Pretty Nadia Riddim’ has Samini, Wan Row, Kay Tee, Jah Lead, Kamelyeon, Shatta Rako, Jah Phinga and Sheperd.

“We brought more established names like Samini, Iwan, Osagyefo, Fiifi Selah and Ras Kuuku on board as motivation for  the young ones,” Mr Adamz said.

The project was recently launched in Accra and was well-attended by reggae and dancehall music lovers.

“The fans loved what they heard and we are glad the young artistes have also warmly embraced the project,” the Irie Ites Studios boss said.
