4X4 set the tone on Kpagam

In July last year, they released the hit song, Baby Dance, which featured Nigerian artiste, Davido, and followed it up with Roses in November. To keep up the tempo from last year, hiplife trio, 4X4, are back with a new song titled, Kpagam.

Kpagam, released a fortnight ago and recorded by Tema based sound engineer, Kill Beatz, is a fascinating dance piece from the group.

Kicking off with the chorus, the group sings about how it is important for men to treat their women right.

But just like their previous songs, the group seem to have a liking for the Nigerian influenced rhythms which have become their choice of rhythm in recent times.

While Fresh Prince sings about how it’s important for men to treat their partners by Red AdBlocker" href="#">well, Captain Planet comes in to rap and brag about his sexual prowess.

But his raps sounded amateurish considering his efforts on other songs of theirs than on Kpagam. They advised men to by Red AdBlocker" href="#">step up their games before their women run into the arms of others.

In an interview with Showbiz on Tuesday, Coded, a member of the trio said their songs had no target audience since they “make songs for both the old and new”.

“We want everybody to have fun with our songs even if you don’t understand the lyrics, it still appeals to you. That’s what we have always had in mind,” he stated.

Currently, 4X4 is signed to Don Jeff Records and Coded told Showbiz that the group is shooting the video for Kpagam.

4X4 comprises Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey (Captain Planet), Edem Avornyo (Coded) and Prince Tamakloe (Fresh Prince). They released their sixth album, 4 Word, in 2013 when they celebrated their tenth anniversary.

Some of the hits from their camp include Sikilitele, Contestant Number 1, Hot Girls.Com and Waist and Power.
