Ticket Ghana, others for City People’s Awards

Entertainment and social media company, Ticket Ghana, has been nominated for this year’s City People’s Entertainment Awards in the category of the “Best Showbiz- Friendly Company of the Year (Ghana). 

The awards is one of the biggest platforms for the celebration of showbiz stars in Nigeria and Ghana. 

The 2014 edition will be held on Sunday, June 22, at the 10 Degrees Event Centre, Billings Way, Oregun, in Lagos from 2 p.m.  

Ticket Ghana has over the years supported the showbiz and entertainment industry through ticketing, social media marketing and event organising solutions with services ranging from ticket printing/security, tyvek/plastic wristbands, among other services. 


The company has also been involved in event management, the most current one being the Ghana Summer Beach Rave, which comes off in August. 

The aim of the beach show, according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ticket Ghana, Mr Basil Anthony, is to help promote beach tourism in particular and Ghana as a top tourist destination.

“We also want to use our social media fan base, which comprises a huge number of exuberant youth to continue to promote entertainment and tourism. Indeed, that is what has distinguished us as a showbiz friendly company”.

Ticket Ghana is competing against Rlg, MTN, Vodafone and Kasapreko.

Other Ghanaian companies and individuals nominated for honours at the City People Entertainment Awards include, Best Actor of the Year; Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Prince Dave Osei, Adjetey Annang and Frank Artus. 

Best Actress of the Year; Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah,  Nadia Buari,  Juliet Ibrahim,  Martha Ankomah and Nana Ama McBrown. 

Those nominated for Entertainment Company of the Year were Charterhouse, Empire Entertainment and Bullhouse Entertainment.

Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas and Ama K. Abebrese are competing for the Face of Ghana Movies Award.

Films nominated for Best Movie of the Year are “Devil In A Dress,”  “Cheaters,” “Northern Affair” and “Potomanto”.

Other categories are Ghanaian Musician of the Year (Male), Ghanaian Musician of the Year (Female), Hottest Ghanaian Actress in Nollywood, TV Station with Best Showbiz Content, Radio Station with Best Showbiz Content, Showbiz Blogger/Online Writer of the Year, Best Movie Director of the Year, Most Promising Actress of the Year and TV Hostess of the Year.
