Sandra Ankobiah honoured

Since becoming a lawyer last year, the host of the Fashion 101 and co-host of TV3’s New Day  has provided free legal services through her legal aid project to the underprivileged and held various lectures at some tertiary institutions with the aim of providing basic legal knowledge to the youth.

It was based on such selfless initiatives that she was honoured last Monday along with Dr Maurice Ampaw of the Legal Advocacy Foundation. They received a plaque each.

Making a presentation on the topic, “Dealing with sexual offences on campus” after her honorary award, Ms Ankobiah said the Ghanaian society must be concerned with the alarming rate of sexually related cases in the various schools in the country.

She noted that such cases don’t provide the right environment for the progress of academic work. She therefore entreated students, especially the female students, to make their academic work a priority in school.

The lecture also extensively looked at breach of promise to marry, and gave insights into how to approach it.

The lecture, Miss Ankobiah said, was her present to the youth for her birthday which falls on May 18.

Sandra later donated an undisclosed amount of money to the school.
