Drake fined $25,000 by the NBA

During his OVO Festival performance last week, the Started From The Bottom rapper made a special mention to MVP Durant who was in the audience and attempted to woo the b-baller from the Thunders to join the Toronto Raptors whom Drizzy is an ambassador for.

“Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” Drake told his audience.

“You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

Well, we’re betting Drizzy’s regretting that now as ESPN are reporting that the National Basketball Association have opened up their pockets, demanding that the Hold On, We’re Going Home rapper pay them a whopping $25,000 for violating the NBA’s anti-tampering regulation.

Drake has been a devoted supporter of the Toronto Raptors and is often spotted in courtside seats at their games.

Of course, no one wants to part with $25,000 but it’s not as bad as it could be worse.

Remember when LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was fined $2.5 million after recordings emerged of of him in a racist rant against black people and even some of his own players?

Sterling has been banned from the NBA, fined $2.5 million and forced to sell his stake in the Clippers.

We’re betting Drizzy will be keeping his mouth firmly shut next time!
