Zenith Bank marks anniversary with SME fair

Zenith Bank Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as it marked its 21st anniversary with a health walk and SME Fair in Accra.

Participants walked through some principal streets of Accra before engaging in aerobics, after which the bank turned attention to the SME Fair, where entrepreneurs exhibited a variety of products and services, alongside a car exhibition that showcased the latest models of EV and Hybrid vehicles.
The event, which brought together about 1,000 participants provided an opportunity for SMEs to showcase their products and services, engage prospective customers and expand their business networks.

Held on the theme, “21 Years of Excellence, A Future of Possibilities”, the celebration at the weekend combined health and wellness activities with an initiative aimed at promoting local businesses and highlighting their contribution to Ghana’s economic development.
Representatives of regulators, board members, executive management, customers, vendors, service providers and staff, both past and present, and guests took part in the event.

Commitment to SME growth

Speaking after the aerobics session, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana, Henry Onwuzurigbo, underscored the importance of SMEs to economic growth and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to providing solutions that enable businesses to thrive.

He said the bank would continue to support SMEs through financing, transaction banking, digital solutions and other business support services designed to enhance their operations and facilitate growth.

Mr Onwuzurigbo encouraged participants to patronise the businesses exhibiting at the fair, emphasising the importance of supporting local enterprises and creating opportunities for their development.

He added that the bank’s 21-year journey had been characterised by trust, resilience, innovation and service excellence, which had positioned it to support businesses, create opportunities, impact communities and contribute to national development.

The CEO said Zenith Bank’s growth and financial strength over the years had provided a solid foundation for deepening its support for businesses and customers.

Innovation, inclusion

Mr Onwuzurigbo reiterated the bank’s commitment to leveraging technology to make banking more accessible, convenient and secure for individuals and businesses.

The CEO also highlighted the introduction of the Zenith Virtual Card, which enables customers to make online payments, and the launch of Z-Money Agency Banking, which extends banking services to customers through authorised agents.

He explained that those innovations formed part of the bank’s broader efforts to enhance customer experience, promote financial inclusion and provide convenient banking solutions.

The bank’s retail, agency banking and e-business teams were also present at the event to engage customers and provide information on its products and services.

Looking ahead, Mr Onwuzurigbo said Zenith Bank would continue to build on its core pillars of people, technology and service, while prioritising innovation, digital transformation, customer experience and sustainable growth.
