UBA to expand reach in 2020

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited has announced its intention to extend its services to about five extra operational areas in the country.

The Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications of the bank, Mr Kwame Dzakpasu, made this known to the media when the UBA Foundation, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of the bank, provided packs of food and drinks for more than 800 people on the streets of Madina.

He did not give further details except to say that the bank had already started working on branches in Ashaiman and Kasoa to improve its service to customers.

Beyond the opening of branches, he said the bank would continue to deploy technology-based solutions to drive financial inclusion and grow to be among the top largest financial institutions in the country.

According to him, UBA had already adopted cutting-edge technology to support its product and service offerings.

"Customers who do not have branches of the bank close to them could access our digital platforms to transact their business.

The bank will soon launch an innovative product which will help change the face of banking in the country," he added.

On the CSR gesture, Mr Dzakpasu said the bank provided the food and drinks for the less privileged in society as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Dubbed the UBA Foundation Food Bank, the initiative, which is the maiden edition, was highly patronised by almost 800 people from within communities in Madina.

"UBA decided to do this in order to support less privileged people on the streets as we celebrate the festive season," he stated and added that it was important to the bank, so its executive members left their offices to join here at Madina to serve these people who may not have.

"Christmas is a season of sharing and giving, so we have decided to put a smile on peoples faces this day.

This initiative has come to stay on the UBA calendar and in our next edition we will rotate to ensure we maximise the joy it brings,” he said.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the bank for its thoughtfulness and care in providing for them during the season of Christmas, which is to share the love of Christ as Christians commemorate His birth.
