The two institutions seek to do this by promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in the country’s inner communities.

The Presidential Coordinator of ZICDS, Ben Abdallah Banda, who disclosed this in an interview at a forum in Accra, said this partnership was a testament to government’s belief in the importance of private-sector partnerships and global strategic alliances to create meaningful change in the Zongo communities.

He said under the terms of the partnership, Maxwell Investments Group would work closely with ZICDS to organize forums, training, workshops, and town hall meetings with local leaders and stakeholders.

“These initiatives aim to empower local entrepreneurs, business people, and micro, small and medium enterprise owners to develop and fund solutions that directly impact social issues in their communities,” he stated.

Significant challenge

He said youth unemployment was a significant challenge and a security threat in these communities, hence the need for all stakeholders to work together in addressing it.

He noted that ZICDS was also partnering with local businesses and organizations to provide training and job placement opportunities for young people in these communities.

“The aim is to empower young people to create for themselves economic opportunities and contribute to the development of their communities.

"We need more support to develop the skills of the youth in order for them to find meaningful work. It's not easy to find jobs in these communities. Through partnerships with local stakeholders and global allies, we hope to create meaningful change and empower the people who live and work in these communities,” he stated.

Executive ambassador

As the Executive Ambassador to the Zongo & Inner-Cities Development Secretariat under the Office of the President, the CEO of MIG, Dr Maxwell Ampong, said partnerships like this would ensure that worthy initiatives are not only successful but also sustainable.

He said the next edition of the business forum would focus on scaling entrepreneurial success through collaboration and sustainability.

“The next edition will focus on building upon the success of the first edition and emphasizing the importance of collaboration and sustainability in entrepreneurship.

“The theme reflects the commitment of Maxwell Investments Group and the Zongo & Inner Cities Development Secretariat (ZICDS) to fostering a supportive ecosystem that empowers the current and the next generation of entrepreneurs to create lasting change and drive economic growth,” he stated.

By highlighting the need for cooperative efforts and sustainable practices, he said the MIG Business Forums aims to encourage entrepreneurs to work together, share resources, and embrace eco-friendly business models for the benefit of the entire community.
