Tonaton, DHL sign pact on deliveries
Tonaton.com, an online market place, has signed an agreement with global courier and logistics company DHL to carry out deliveries for its e-commerce service also known as Buy Now.
The move is to facilitate and improve the delivery of goods at a safer and a faster pace with affordable charges.

The agreement, which has already commenced, will allow DHL deliver to Tonaton customers in Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, Cape Coast and Accra with the desire of expanding to other cities in the country.

Speaking at the recent Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards held in Accra , the Head of Tonaton Marketplace Mr Uriel Marquaye, said the agreement with DHL represented a milestone in their operations which will lead to greater efficiency in its dealings and also improve the user experience for Tonaton Customers.
“The Tonaton - DHL Partnership will propel our ecommerce process to a greater efficiency and brand recognition in Ghana. Tonaton delivery charges will be one of the best in the country and buyers will experience an exceptional shopping value," he added.

At the Ghana Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards which was organised under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Tonaton was named the Silver Excellence Award winner for its sterling contribution to the growth of online transactions in Ghana.
The company was recognised for its role in growing the ecommerce industry in Ghana and helping Ghanaian businesses and small and medium-scale enterprises to reach a wider audience thereby growing their businesses with a plaque.
Other receipients were Unicredit, Golden Tulip Kumasi City, Agro Ecom, an agro based company, Biotec and Airport View Hotel.
Value sustainability
Receiving the award, the Managing Director (MD) of Tonaton.com, Mr Zubair Riaz reiterated Tonaton.com’s mission which is to help create sustainable value for the community.
He identified that E-commerce was at a mature stage in Ghana at the moment, saying it had a long way to go before matching the world class experiences such as ebay and amazon.
Mr Riaz said logistics, online payments, product offering from wider range of brands and customer trust were some of many areas that needed most improvement.
“This award is a testament that Tonaton.com is at the forefront of pushing the industry towards excellence. We are excited that we are living up to our mission of creating sustainable value for the community aside promoting Ghana’s economic development," he said.
