Stanbic Bank supports SOS Children's Village

Stanbic Bank has presented a cheque for GH₵60,000 to two Socialis Sociata (SOS) Children’s Villages in Accra and Tamale.

The donation is meant to support the upkeep of the children in the homes. The bank has, consequently adopted two of the homes at Asiakwa and Tamale.

The SOS Children’s Villages Ghana has 4 campuses. The oldest in Accra houses 129 children; another in Asiakwa houses 112; the others in Kumasi and Tamale house 115 and 102 children respectively.

Presenting the dummy cheque, the Communications Manager at Stanbic Bank, Mr Kojo Akoi-Larbi, said the initiative was one of the series of corporate social interventions the bank had rolled out this year.

“This is an employee community engagement initiative which complements Stanbic Bank’s culture of sharing and protecting the vulnerable in society.

“We have a policy at Stanbic Bank where we encourage the staff to identify causes they want to support and contribute towards them,” he added.

According to him, the bank was concerned about giving back to society.

“We believe in your cause; we like the fact that you are helping the vulnerable in society and we are going to support you every step of the way,” Mr Akoi-Larbi assured.

Alexander Kekula, the National Director of the Village lauded the bank for the support.

He called for a deeper partnership, where students would be granted training and internship opportunities at the bank.

Stanbic Bank is committed to creating prosperity and giving back to the people of Ghana.

The bank provides social support in education, sports development, the agricultural sector, poverty relief, health and environmental protection.

The bank has pledged constant support for the two houses it has adopted. Staff of the bank also intends to frequently visit and mentor the children in these homes.
