Senok West Africa Limited has officially launched the latest JCB machinery range in Ghana, introducing advanced engineering solutions and equipment to the West African market.
The launch, held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra, brought together representatives from various ministries of state, business owners, industry leaders, clients and business partners to experience the new range.
Senok West Africa was incorporated in December 2025 and commenced operations in April 2026. As the authorised sole dealer of JCB machinery, the company is positioned to connect businesses across Ghana and the wider West African market with equipment backed by JCB's engineering expertise.
The Country Manager of Senok West Africa, Mr Roshan Buddhagamage, said the company's relationship with JCB spans more than 35 years in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, and that the manufacturer wanted Senok to take over the Ghana operation.
"We have enough know-how and experience of handling JCB equipment, and that's why JCB wanted us to come to Ghana and take over the Ghana operation, so that's why Senok West Africa is established here," he said. "We can confidently state that we can undertake all the services, spare parts, and any kind of machine and any kind of requirement in terms of the JCB range of equipment."
Mr Buddhagamage said Ghana presents significant opportunities in infrastructure development and construction. He said the company would provide training and development opportunities for Ghanaians. "We are always welcome to Ghanaian people to serve ourselves and contribute their services for us," he said.
On the potential of Ghanaian workers to handle heavy machinery, he said the country has energetic people who only require proper training and guidelines to meet expected standards.
Local assembly possibility
Asked whether Ghanaians could one day see JCB equipment assembled locally, Mr Buddhagamage said the company currently receives semi-knocked-down units, which creates opportunities for Ghanaians to be involved in assembling, fixing and pre-delivery inspection and testing.
Lowest cost of ownership
The Deputy General Manager for East Africa at JCB India Limited, Mr Rupesh Nagar, said JCB is one of the largest construction and mining equipment companies in the world, with products designed to operate at the lowest cost of ownership in their class.
"You get the lowest cost of operation. The fuel consumption is the lowest in its category. You get low fuel cost when you operate through JCB machine," he said. "All the parts that you want in a machine are available with Senok West Africa. The cost of the parts is very optimum."
He said financing solutions, on-site technical support and trained technicians are available through Senok, including mobile service vans to attend to machines on site.
Spare parts and human resource
On the availability and affordability of spare parts, Mr Nagar said genuine parts are available at the facility in Ghana. "You don't have to use duplicate parts, which will impact adversely to the machine performance. Our assurance to our customers is: you get quality, genuine parts at most optimum cost level," he said.
On human resource capacity, he said JCB is focused on capability building in Ghana. "We have trained more than 5,000 technicians across East Africa, and our endeavour in Ghana is how do we train the mechanics and how do we train the operators to ensure that few years down the line you have a manpower which is competent, technically trained to operate the machines," he said. "That is where the economy and the industry of Ghana will develop."
Senok West Africa said the launch represents its commitment to building strong partnerships, supporting customers with dependable machinery solutions and contributing to Ghana's infrastructure and economic development. The company said it looks forward to a future of shared opportunities, stronger partnerships and meaningful contributions to the development of Ghana and the wider West African region.
