SeKaf Ghana Limited, the producer of TAMA natural shea butter-based hair and skin care products, was adjudged company of the year in the toiletries and cosmetic category at the just ended Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) awards.
The company was awarded for its achievements in the toiletries and cosmetics industry in Ghana and abroad for the Company’s short period of existence, as well as its impact on the Ghanaian economy, especially the economic wellbeing of the rural poor women in the savannah Zone of Ghana.
The event, which was held on the theme: “Growing Local Industry for Export Development and Job creation”, saw companies that had performed excellently in various sectors of the economy receiving awards of honour.
At the ceremony, the president of the AGI, Mr James Asare-Adjei, said the rate of unemployment would reduce if industries experienced sustainable growth.
Receiving the award, the Founder of SeKaf Ghana, Mr Senyo Kpelly, expressed gratitude to the Association for the recognition and promised that his outfit would maintain its pledge to delight customers with the highest quality natural Shea butter skin and hair care products.
"We are grateful for this recognition, and promise to lift the flag of Ghana high on the international market. We will continue to provide high quality, safe and natural alternatives to the artificial and harmful cosmetics for both the local and international markets." he said.
He also dedicated the award to the main stakeholders of the company; the over 5000 women Shea collectors and processors from the Savannah zone, some of whom were present to receive the award.
He also assured customers of its continuous improvement in product quality and urged the public to look forward to new additions to the TAMA range of personal care products.
