The items include bags of rice, cartons of ideal milk, cartoons of brown sugar, teabags and boxes of bottled water.

Presenting the items, the Corporate Affairs Manager for Passion Air, Samuel A.R Tachie, said his outfit recognised the contribution of the Muslim community towards the country’s development and supports them as they begin their 30-day spiritual journey.

The donation, he said, was part of the Airline’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to give back to society.

“Like we all know, the aviation sector has been through a lot because of the COVID; Passion Air actually started operations in 2018 and everything was smooth sailing even though we had challenges here and there.

This global pandemic that came, we took a very big hit which is not out of the woods yet, but we are making steady progress. So, as part of our contribution to the society, these are some of the things we do,” he said.

Appreciation

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Sharubutu, thanked Passion Air for the gesture and prayed for its continuous success in the industry.

“Passion Air is the first organisation to reach out to us with a donation and we are very happy.

As usual, during such times, most of the needy people come around with heavy demands so some of these donations help lessen the burden and we are able to have more to distribute to the deprived in society,” he said.

He called on Muslims to come out of Ramadan as a gem among human beings and exhibit the best and utmost excellence which is needed for humanity to grow and flourish.
