Speaking on the topic, “Business Unusual: Making strides by thinking outside the box,” Mr Nyinaku said, “I believe in you being the builder of your business.”

Mr Nyinaku added that in starting a business, one should be competent, have capital as well as the courage to venture.

“Although there are successful pharmaceutical companies in Ghana, I am not so sure if these are all owned by pharmacists or you only man them on behalf of others who may not be pharmacists.”

“Where our world is going, I think those of us who are practitioners and have the skill should be able to come out of our shells and drive the business ourselves, it is very possible. Accountants have started doing it, they are now running banks and I believe that, you can as well,” he advised.

He also underscored the importance branding plays in a business saying “you cannot fail if you take good care of your brand.”

Mr Nyinaku called on pharmacists to give out  their business an identity, adding  “after the necessary processes and systems are laid down, the next thing to get right is the branding of the business. If there is anything that we have done right in most of the businesses at the BEIGE Group, then it is branding.

The managing director of Beige Capital recounted how the group spent a lot of time and considerable resources in giving its businesses their own identities.

The BEIGE Group, a private equity firm, has interests in banking and finance, real estate, mining and hospitality sectors of the economy.
