Oak Plaza Hotels adjudged best facility

Oak Plaza Hotels has for the second time running been adjudged the best 3-star facility at the Greater Accra Regional Tourism Awards

This year’s event held on the theme: “Rewarding Excellence through Healthy Competition,” gave out 19 competitive and honorary awards to individuals and organisations that have made immense contributions to the growth of the tourism industry.

The selection of awardees was based on a set of criteria including innovation and creativity, appreciable degree of customer service and quality of staff. Other benchmarks included the general appeal of the facilities, sustainability of business and adherence to industry rules and regulations.

The Oak Plaza Hotels was cited for its outstanding achievements in the development and promotion of tourism in the Greater Accra Region and particularly for distinguishing itself by its friendly staff and impeccable facilities that offer comfort, convenience and relaxation

Appreciation

Present to receive the award on behalf of the hotel were the General Manager, Ms Hazel Gumpo, and the Sales & Marketing Manager, Mrs Semira Anku

In her acceptance speech, Ms Gumpo thanked the organisers of the award for consistently acknowledging the hard work of stakeholders in the industry

She gave an assurance that the hotel would not rest on its oars but continue to offer and give out their best for their clientele.

Awards

Mrs Gifty Kwansa, Regional Manager, Ghana Tourism Authority noted that the awards programme has been instituted to acknowledge the efforts of organisations and individuals towards the development and promotion of tourism in Ghana.

She said although it was taking the country years to achieve the dream of making Ghana a preferred destination in Africa, the current investments in top-rated and international chain of hotels, restaurants and night clubs support and encourage the inflow of visitors of various pursuits and missions.
