Nominations open for 4th Institute of Directors Ghana Corporate Awards

The Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-GH) has opened nominations for the 4th edition of the IoD-Gh Corporate Governance Excellence Awards from now till Friday, October 29, 2021.

The awards ceremony which will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Kempiski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, would reward individuals and corporate organisations that have distinguished themselves over the year under review.

The ceremony which would be preceded by a week-long event seeks to bring directors and members of the Institute together to build their capacity, network and share ideas on how to promote directorship and professionalism in their various spheres of influence.

Aim

Themed "Good corporate governance and ethical leadership: An essential requirement for organizational turnaround," this year's event will kick off on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, with a strategic stakeholder engagement to discuss issues around corporate governance and leadership in promoting the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda, and followed by an Annual General Meeting.

Capacity Building Session

The event would focus on strategic capacity development sessions that would equip directors with tools to manage turnarounds with the potential to help rebuild post COVID-19 pandemic and explore opportunities for members to examine their governance structures and assess their degree of preparedness to dealing with recovery and corporate turnarounds.

The ceremony which seeks to create opportunities for members to interact with leadership to discuss various strategic issues relating to the institute would also touch on the successes chalked by the Institute and profess solutions to its challenges.

Speakers for the week-long celebration include the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Bagbin, the Chief Justice, Justice Anim Yeboah, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr Ernest Addison, the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare among many others.
